Friday Fitness News: Sleepy, Happy, Sneezy

Happy, happy, happy Friday! I am experiencing an unusual amount of sleepiness this fine morning, so if I spell things wrong and links don’t work…blame my J-pouch for waking me up an hour before I needed to be up today.

Fail, J-pouch. Fail.

Ugh. I hate when my alarm goes off after I've been up for an hour. Reminds me of all the cozy, snuggly sleep I missed.

Ugh. I hate when my alarm goes off after I’ve been up for an hour. Reminds me of all the cozy, snuggly sleep I missed. Garfield knows what I’m talking about.

I am happy to report that I am 1/4 of the way towards meeting my goal for Team Challenge! Don’t forget to sign up for the Kick Ass 5K and a chance to win a trip for you and 9 friends to Acapulco, Mexico. Seriously.

I am less thrilled about allergy season descending upon us. Yuck. Then again, allergy season also coincides with it being birthday season sooooooooo…I’m not that mad.

But that’s not the news this week. This is:

Love the MCM & I never have trouble registering on Team Fisher House.

Obviously, Birdie & I are the same as Kara & Shalane. Duh.

What did I miss? Is there a workout I need to try in NYC? One you’re rocking in your hometown this weekend? Who’s racing this weekend? Don’t forget to tell me so I can cheer you on!

Now go out and run.

Friday Fitness News: A Smörgåsbord

It has been bitter cold in NYC this week. I’m one of the crazy runners who hit the pavement for a few cold runs and pretty immediately regretted it. What an idiot.

Frrrrrrozzzzzen Abby.

Frrrrrrozzzzzen Abby.

Thank goodness for the sunshine that kept my exposed face warm. By the way, I’ve been sporting my Run: Bundle Up Jacket all week and I am loving it for the sub-30° runs.

So what’s happening in the fitness world this week? Well, the fallout from the ING New York City Marathon 2012 comes to a relative close, as today is THE LAST DAY TO CHOOSE YOUR RACE CANCELLATION RESOLUTION or you lose everything. Mind you, runners only get entry into one of the races offered, they still have to pay the fees associated with the race itself. Wah-wah.

These are the options. Choose wisely, friends.

(I say get your money back. Who wants to pay $500+ for a marathon?)

Good morning, Vermont!

Good morning, Vermont!

Run with me!

Run with me!

PSA: If you’ve ever benefitted from physical therapy, consider running the NYU DPT 5K this March. Portions of race entry goes to raising money for research and I’ll be there running with my classmates. Join me! It’s in Prospect Park. Details here.

Don’t forget our lululemon Long Run Team meets tomorrow at 9am at the E. 66th St. store (temporary location during renovation: 1142 3rd ave, between 66th and 67th Sts.

Now go out and run!

Friday Fitness News: Other Than Lance

I don’t care about Lance Armstrong crying like he’s the one whose been wronged on Oprah. It’s all PR posturing now. He did it. Everyone knows he did it. There won’t be as stiff a penalty for him as there will be many massive money-making days ahead for him to tell his cheater-cheater pumpkin eater story again and again.

One tidbit: why did he deny doping after 2005 (in 2009 and 2010)? What’s the point? Ah, that’s the gem of this little “confession”. The statute of limitations states he can still be sued by sponsors for fraud, etc., for the 2009 & 2010 allegations. He is trying to dupe us again, folks.

Gross. He’s gross. And an ass. And he should NEVER be allowed to participate in competitive sports ever again.

I don’t care about Lance on Oprah.

On that note, Happy Friday. See you all tomorrow at the first Team lululemon long training run at 9am. Meet at the E. 66th St. store on 3rd Ave and come run with me!

Now go out and run.

Friday Fitness News: The Dog Didn’t get $15M

Happy, happy Friday! I don’t know why, but this weekend couldn’t come fast enough for me. I’m ready to relax and spend time with JB–he is currently addicted to Flywheel Sports just like me. So awesome. He kills it on every ride. 400+ on the Torque Board last night. What?!

Do you cross train on the bike? It’s my personal favorite. That and doing a HIIT in the gym. Love it. Anyway, here’s what’s going on in the Fitness World this week:

Yes.

I’m off to enjoy my weekend. I hope you are doing the same right now. See you next week.

Oh, and mark your calendars for the Star-Studded Total Body Tune Up hosted by me and my team over at the E. 66th St. lululemon and featuring the magic of Dr. Shure from Madison Square Wellness and our favorite yogi, Lara Benusis. Get all fixed up for racing season with us!

Now go out and run!
